William  "Bill" Joseph Flynn passed away on Thursday, May 09, 2024, at the Southwest Montana Veterans Home in Butte, Montana.  Bill was born on February 11, 1948, in Butte, the son of William Thomas and Frances Dorothy (Bordner) Flynn.

Bill attended local schools and graduated from Butte High School.  He proudly served in the United States Navy before becoming employed as a boilermaker for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company (ACM).  A talented welder, Bill also worked at Flynn and Son Welding with his father, who was also an extraordinary welder.  He worked as a welder from the early 1970's until 1982, when he became disabled due to a work-related fall.

On September 11, 1970, Bill married Linda Pajnich in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Together, they raised 7 wonderful children.  They later divorced but remained close friends.

After Bill became disabled, he demonstrated his aptitude as an artist.  He was truly gifted and created beautiful drawings and paintings.  Bill also had a love of automobiles, especially sports cars, and was known for the amazing cars he owned.  When not creating a breathtaking portrait or landscape, or partaking in a leisurely drive, he would enjoy a quiet day of fishing or studying the history of WWII.  He shall always be remembered for his talent and integrity.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Thomas Trebbien, Shannon and Dave Bennett, and Lt. Ronald Babich.  He is survived by his sons, Paul (Gina) Flynn, Chad Flynn, and Brian (Holly) Flynn; his daughters, Brandee (John Kuchtyn) Flynn , Wendy (Lance) Spencer, Jennifer Levi Sever) Flynn, and Michelle (Rob) Anderson; and his grandchildren; Brianna (Justin) Chadwell, Brayden Klobucar, Rydge Kuchtyn, Ryken Kuchtyn Peyton Warren, Holly Anderson, Lucy Flynn, Aidan Flynn, Ennis Spencer, Sailor Spencer, Lincoln Spencer, Kanyon Flynn, McKynlee Flynn, Brystal Kuchtyn, and Emalyne Rairdan.  He is also survived by his brother, Robert Flynn; and his former wife, Linda Flynn.

Friends may call on Friday, May 31, 2024, after 10:00 am in St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.  Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
