Virginia Henningsen Lisac

Virginia "Jinny Sue" passed away peacefully Tuesday surrounded by her loving children and precocious pets.

She was the eldest child of Rex and Jean Henningsen and attended Kennedy Elementary and graduated from Butte High School in 1957.  She then attended Walt Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, where she met her first husband Herbert Rivers. They lived for several years in California, eventually returning to her beloved "Butte".

Jinny was involved in many social clubs and served as president for both the Junior League and P.E.O.  She held a number of jobs over the course of her career, including working at family businesses- Maggie Ann's Apparel and Christie Furniture.   Later she became the Human Resources Director for Safeway Stores, and accounting clerk for Standall Accounting.

Jinny married Edward Lisac in 1984, and they shared 35 wonderful years together, until his passing in 2019. Jinny and Ed had marvelous adventures together taking trips all over the world.  Jinny loved her home on Saddle Rock Road as it was the hub of all family activity.  After Ed's passing, Jinny continued the rest of her years sharing a home with her daughters Jennifer and Deann where she enjoyed the beautiful views of the East Ridge.

Although her battle with arthritis caused physical challenges and limitations, it never affected her spirt to continue enjoying the simple things in life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and adored her "greats" as she lovingly referred to them.  Some of her ultimate joys included traveling with her children and as many dinners at "Lydia's" as possible.   Most recently she travelled to Washington to celebrate the wedding of grandchildren Derick and Brittany and spent her 85 ^th birthday in Newport Beach with Christine and Peter.

Known as "Grannels" to all who loved her, she enjoyed birdwatching at Camp Cardwell, catching up with friends on social media, and was also a politically savvy fan of CNN. She was a true animal lover. Besides her beloved dogs, (especially Bailey) she had a special fondness for foxes.

Jinny is preceded in death by her parents Rex and Jean Henningsen, and her husband Edward Lisac.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Leslie and Tom Donnelly of Cardwell, MT; Christine and Peter Markey of Aspen, CO; Fred and Ann Rivers of LaCenter, WA; Jennifer Rivers and Deann Johnson of Butte.

She is also survived by her grand and great grandchildren: Gianna, Justin, Megan and Braden Donnelly; Joseph, Michaelee, Genevieve and Jameson Brusati; Jonathan, Miah and Eli Rivers, Addie Frazier; Rex Rivers and Roxanne Remington; Derick and Brittany Rivers; Jesse Baker; Jason and Thanh Markey; Kelly, Tommy, Dean and Ellery Lester; Ashley Markey, Katherine and Mila Madrid. Brother and Sister-in-Law- Richard and Carol Henningsen of Butte.  She is also survived by dear family friend, Colleen Sullivan.

In memory of Virginia, and her love of animals, the family suggests donations to the Animal Welfare charity of your choice.

Private family services have been held, and a Celebration of Life Ceremony is planned for April.  Date will be announced.
