Virginia McLeod was born in Butte, Montana on May 12, 1936 to John and Enes Cuculich. She attended St. Ann's grade school and graduated from Girls Central High School. In high school, she met the love of her life, John J. McLeod and the two were married May 12, 1956. They shared fishing and camping trips, golf getaway vacations, and countless trips to spend time, play or celebrate with their family. When they weren't on the go they were golfing, working in their yard or on their house.
Virginia worked for the Butte School District in three different school libraries. She loved children and was delighted to share her love of books and reading with them.
She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Bonnie Highlander's group. She and her friends golfed three seasons and cross country skied the course in the winter.
Virginia also loved to cook, bake, sew, work in her flower and vegetable gardens, read and spend time with her friends. She belonged to Red Hat and thoroughly enjoyed the monthly outings and trips to the Convergence.
Virginia was devoted to her husband and family. She loved nothing better than doing the crossword with him as they motored down the road on golf vacations or visits to their family. She was a huge part of her daughter, grandchildren and great-grand-children's lives. She took great pride in attending their sporting events, dance recitals, graduations and weddings. Virginia was tickled to have great grandchildren and loved holding them, playing with them and showing-off their newest photos to her friends.
Virginia made an impact on so many lives because she was a good listener and truly interested in people. Her kindness, generosity and can-do-optimistic attitude will always be remembered.
She is survived by her loving husband John J. McLeod, daughter and son-in-law Christy and Dennis McConnell. Grandchildren: Cameron & Amy McConnell, Arielle & Aaron Lawhead, Kiley McConnell and fiancé Scott Kary. Great-grandchilden: Cade and Jax McConnell, Addie and Asher Lawhead and Harper Kary. She is also survived by numerous close nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends may call Friday after 9:00am at St. Ann's Church. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00am in the Church. Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
