Vera Maria Cooney 86 died Friday morning March 11, 2016, surrounded by those that meant the most to her, "her family".
She was born June 4, 1929 in Olean, NY, raised in Hinsdale; she married the love of her life, Frank L. Cooney, in Jamestown, N.Y. They remained devoted to one another for 55 years of loving companionship until his death Aug. 4, 2005.
Vera was a very classy lady. She loved her dresses and high heels. She loved having family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never passed up a time to go shopping with her kids. She was a one of kind women she kept a clean house and remodeled it as well.
Vera has gone on to be with her Parents Paul and Edith Hooper; her Husband Frank Cooney, son Michael Cooney, grandson Kody McAauley, Sister Ellen Hooper and Brother Robert Hooper.
She is survived, and will be missed, by her children, Frank and Vickie Cooney, Judy and Ernest Henrikson, Patty and Ken Richardson, Mary Lou and Jerry Schmidt, John and Mary Cooney, Cindy and John Northey and Rose and Dave Connell; and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Skip and wife June, Sister Bernie, Brother Eddie and wife Carol, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call after noon on Tuesday in the Duggan Dolan Chapel for visitations. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM in the mortuary chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
