Mrs. Velena Navarro Hughes passed away Saturday October 15, in Butte. She was born August 8, 1924, in Salt Lake City, UT., to Jose and Julia (Rerentires) Navarro. She received her education in local schools.
On September 4, 1944 she married William T. Hughes in Boulder, MT, he preceded her in death.
Velena was a homemaker, raising her five children. She also worked as a nurse's aid and a nanny. She served as a Camp Fire Girl leader.
She is survived by her sons William and David Hughes and daughters; Janie Donahue, Dorothy (Robin) Robinson and Georgia (Jess) Maynard. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and Six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday October 24, at 1:00pm, in the Chapel of Duggan Dolan Mortuary. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
