Garland Steven Hall, 68, died of natural causes on November 8, 2025. Steve was born in Butte, Montana, September 9, 1957, to Garland F. Hall and Helen Harrington Hall. He attended Longfellow grade school and graduated from Butte High School in 1976. Garland and his wife Annie made their home in Butte after his honorable discharge from the United Stated Navy, and he pursued a second career at the Montana Department of Corrections in Deer Lodge. Whether you knew him as Steve, Stevie, Hooper, Gar, or Garland; you are certain to remember him as sincere and loyal; as family, friend, shipmate, or colleague.

Steve was a lifelong sports enthusiast on sandlots, fields, and courts from grade school through high school, a fantastic distance runner in junior high and inducted as a Golden B with his 1975 Butte High teammates in 2025. A devoted fan of his college and pro sports teams, having traveled to see "his" Seattle Mariners. He followed all Baltimore teams, and his all-time favorite was Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts of the late 1960's. He loved golf, hunting, and camping; his real passion was fishing, and he was a fine fisherman. There are special memories for those associated with the Hall Family logging company, family reunions, countless gatherings, card games, board games, and meals. More than anything else, he was an open and gentle soul with a heart much, much bigger than most.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael Hall, Fr. Robert Hall, uncles Monsignor Joseph Harrington, Terry Ryan, Arthur Dick, Bob Hall, and Harvey Hall; aunts, Marlene Dick, and cousins, Nancy LeClair and Dale Neumann.

He is survived by his sister Veronica Hall and brother Mark (Gabriele) Hall; aunts, Irene Ryan, Sandra (Ken) Harrington, and Elizabeth Hall; nieces, Beth (Jake) Perusich and Dannielle Hall; nephew, Nathan Schwartzmiller; grandnieces and nephews, Braelynn Schwartzmiller, Bentlee Schwartzmiller, Ava Perusich, Lewis Perusich, Jaycie Perusich, and Kaden Johnston; cousins John Dick, Arthur Dick, Collene Hunter, Jim Dick, Margie Thomas, Kathlene Lawrence, Irene O'Keefe, Joe Dick, Maureen Ryan, Jennifer Briggs, Diane Patera, Florence Fisher, Dave Neumann, Sheila Manzano, Dan Neumann, Maggie Dick, Tim Dick, Sandra Neumann, Ann Marie Buczkowski Hall, Katherine Brown, and Harvey Hall Jr.
