Stephen Tomazich, a devoted son, brother and friend, passed away on October 2nd, 2023 at The Springs Assisted Living with loyal family friends, Tom Bolton and Colleen Norbeck, by his side.

Steve was born on August 19th, 1948 in Butte to Rudy and Dulcie Tomazich. He was immediately loved and cared for by his big sister, Trudy. They were a close-knit, baseball loving family.  They had wonderful life-long friendships with many in Walkerville.

In his working years, Steve was a hard-working employee. The majority of those years were spent working at Safeway and with the Montana Power Company.

Steve, and his sister Trudy, cared for cared their mother through the terrible illness of Alzheimer's and were able to keep her home through it all. They provided attentive and compassionate care for her until her death in 1991. Years later, Steve and Trudy again became caregivers for their dad when he became sick with cancer. They cared for him until he passed away in 2000.

After losing their parents, Steve and Trudy found a love for travel. Starting in 2000, until just last year, they traveled to 30 states. Some of their favorite trips included Washington D.C., Chicago and New York. They were always planning the next big trip, which usually had a baseball team event around it.

In his last few months, Steve was the life of the party at The Springs Assisted Living. He was quick to join any and all activities, but especially the ones that took him out into the Butte community. The staff at the Springs would joke that he was the mayor, as he always had several people that knew him and wanted to visit, wherever they went.

Steve was a loving brother to Trudy until her passing earlier this year. He is survived by many family friends and his new Springs Living family.

Cremation has taken place and burial will take place on Monday, October 9th at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held at noon at The Springs Assisted Living Community Center at 300 Mount Highland Drive.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butte Food Bank or charity of the donor's choice.
