Mrs. Shirley Yvonne Wiitamaki passed away on March 24, 2016. at her residence, surrounded by the her loving family. Shirley was born on February 8, 1940 in Everett, Massachusetts. Her daughter writes:

Dear Mom,

You've only been gone a very short time, but you are so missed and loved by us. You left us too soon, but you needed to gain your wings to soar again. I know you didn't want to go quite yet, but God needed you more.

You leave behind the love of your life, Dad (Elmer Wiitamaki), me (Katherine Baldry) and your son-in-law (Patrick Baldry), granddaughter (Erin Baldry-Hoppe and husband, Wayne), grandson (Bryan Baldry and wife, Amber Hunt-Baldry), four great grandchildren (Katie, JD, and Maggie Hoppe, and Axten Baldry and her new brother, or sister, who will be with us in September). Three others that were very special to you were your brother and his wife (Richard and Jean Taylor), who never went one day without calling you. They loved you so much and you loved to talk about them every day; also, your sister, Marilyn Dillon. You are now in Heaven with Grandpa and Grandma Riopel and your infant daughter, Deborah.

Mom, you fought a courageous battle with cancer, and kicked its butt for 15 years. You never gave up, you just got tired. You leave us a beautiful legacy of strength, love, and determination that will stay with us forever. Thank you for that.
