Sheila Marie (Paffhausen) Ueland, 66

January 31, 1955 - October 11, 2021

On October 11th, 2021, Sheila Marie (Paffhausen) Ueland, was greeted with open arms and joined our Heavenly Father. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home, once again being the glue who will continue to bring us together, forever.

Sheila was born in Butte, Montana on January 31st, 1955. She was the fifth born of the Paffhausen seven who ruled Bayard Street. Her parents, Mick and Helen Paffhausen, instilled the values of hard work and the importance of faith. Devoted to her Catholic upbringing, she attended school at Saint Ann's Catholic Grade School and Butte Central High School and furthered her education at Eastern Montana College.

While attending Butte Central, she met Don Ueland, and never looked back. The two married on March 15, 1975. Together, they created a beautiful life outside of Butte on the Ueland family ranch. It was there that they taught their four children hard work, integrity and perseverance. Their children often tease that their mom worked her whole life, and their dad never had a job.

Miss Sheila, as many have come to know her, was Butte's beloved preschool teacher. Her personality animated the learning at the Creativity Factory Preschool that she owned and operated for nearly 40 years, singing songs, reading books, and spreading joy wherever she went. Miss Sheila loved each of her students and was proud of their academic achievements.

Sheila was selflessly devoted to her family in all aspects. The highlight of her life was cheering on her children and grandchildren. Win or lose, she always said they did great.

After all her hard work, lifestyle, and lifelong achievements in the community, Sheila was most proud of purchasing a family cabin at Placid Lake. It was her happy place with her family who will continue to gather there in her honor.

We are comforted in the thought that Sheila has been reunited with her mom, Helen, and her father Mick, whom she missed dearly, and her youngest grandchild, Grace Ann. She is also preceded in death by Ole and Eleanor Ueland, Harry Hartz and Ron Ueland. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Don, faithful children, Mollie Keeley (John, Emma, Mia, Jack), Mandi Klimpel (Joe, Kellen, Konnor, Anna), Matthew Ueland (Brett, Ellie) and Krissy Graham (Johnny, Brooklyn, Ryan). Siblings, Mike Paffhausen, Kate Stetzner, Bob Paffhausen (Kris), Jim Paffhausen (Judy), Karen VanDaveer (John), and Tom Paffhausen (Camy ). Along with her in-laws, Marty Ueland (Donna), Martha Simonich (Ed), Ray Ueland (Toni), Clara Hartz, Carl Ueland ( Barb), Sue Ueland, Dan Ueland (Ann) along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. We promise we will continue to come together, celebrate one another, and find joy in your love and laughter.

Sheila's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to numerous members of the Bozeman Health Medical staff and the Butte Cancer Center. You each guided us through this difficult journey and helped Sheila fight courageously.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Oct 14th, from 5pm-7pm at Saint Ann's Catholic Church. The funeral will take place at 11am Friday, Oct 15th, at Saint Ann's Catholic Church followed by a luncheon at the Butte Country Club.

A private burial service will take place at a later date.
