Sharon Lee (Cutting) Scharf, 83, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at UIHC following a sudden illness.

Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Sharon's life at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 4, 2026 (Anniversary Day of Sharon and Dale) at Duggan Dolan Mortuary, 1805 Meadowlark Lane, Butte, Montana. Friends may call after 10:00 am.   Her final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Garden, Crackerville, Montana.

Sharon was born on May 5,1943 in Butte, Montana, the daughter of Albert and Helen Cutting.

On June 4, 1961, Sharon married Dale Scharf in Butte, Montana. They had 64 wonderful years together and raised three boys. They moved to Iowa in 1973 and she worked for the Des Moines Register, sold real estate and senior health insurance all while enjoying the "Little Big Sky Ranch" in Toddville, Iowa. She enjoyed traveling, summer and winter skiing and spending time at the cabin. She was an enthusiastic animal lover for her dogs, cats and horses. She loved riding and showing horses. She was a member of the Center Point Saddle Club, Cedar Rapids Horseman's Club and Northeast Iowa Saddle Club.

Those left to honor her memories include her husband, Dale Scharf of 64 years; her children Kevin, Duane (Deloris), Greg (Donna); and her beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Mattea, Maxwell, Nick, and Jackie all of Iowa.

She is also survived by her brothers Al and Jimmy (Shell) Cutting of Butte, MT; her sisters Mary Barbachano of Butte, MT and Laura (Don) Stefanatz of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her brother-in laws, Ron (Charlene) Scharf of Polaris, MT, Randy (Rick Chappel) Scharf of Butte, MT, Darrell (Ann) Scharf of Whitehall, MT, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother- and father-in-law; her sisters, Marjorie Cutting, Elizabeth Lee, and Geri Tweet; her brothers-in-law, Gene Scharf and John Lee; and her sister-in-law, Joan Scharf.
