Sarah M. Sullivan passed away Monday, March 10, 2025. Sarah was born in 1942 in Butte, Montana, to Marie O'Neill and J.M. "Jack" Sullivan.

Sarah attended St. Patrick's Grade School and Girls Central High School, she also attended college for two years at Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas, were she had received a scholarship. She returned to Montana and completed her Junior Year at what was then Western Montana College of Education in Dillon, Montana. In 1963, she married Leonard Readicker and moved to Red Rock, Montana. They had a son, Lawrence John Readicker.  She returned to school in Missoula; graduating in political science, history, and English. She acquired a teaching certificate and taught for one year before getting hired to teach in Butte. She taught English at Butte High School until West Junior High opened, and subsequently taught there until she married Robert Thomas and moved to Burns OR. She taught English and Speech at Burns Union High School.  After returning to Butte she worked as a juvenile probation officer until she began working for Butte Silver Bow Welfare Department. She retired from the State of Montana Department of Family Services in 1978.

Sarah liked to travel and enjoyed going to visit relatives in Portland. She also liked going to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, every year.  She began studying the Chinese medicinal practice of Che Gong and took class for various forms. She participated in a group who met for many years and continued practicing.  Sarah has always been artistic. and painted.  She had a wonderful group of people with whom she painted and became great friends.  She was able to visit with her mother daily, as they lived a block apart.  Sarah also enjoyed playing Mah Jong and had wonderful time with her friends playing for hours. She spent most of her time outside working in her yard once the weather warmed up. She loved flowers, especially poppies and had a beautiful flower garden. She loved caring for her dog and her feral cats who adopted her.

Sarah was bereaved by the loss of her grandparents, Timothy  J. and Maggie (Shea) O'Neill, and Michael Jeremiah and Sarah (Ryan) Sullivan; her parents, Marie and Jack Sullivan; her brother, Michael Sullivan; and her aunt, Margaret Sullivan.  She is survived by her son, Lawrence John Readicker of Del City, Oklahoma; her grandson, Leonard Readicker of Knoxville Tennessee; sister, Donna Forsberg of Vancouver Washington, her niece, Marie (Bob) Forsberg of Lake Oswego, Oregon; and her nephew, Aaron (Takako) Forsberg and their daughter, Alisa Forsberg, of Washington D.C. She is also survived by her cousins, Dan and Bonnie Sullivan and family of Mercer Island, Washington, Mike and Dottie Sullivan of Sun Lakes , Arizona, Maggie Ryan and family, Katie Ryan, and Dan Ryan. all of Butte, and Chris (Jerry) Britt Gilbert of Arizona.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
