Samuel Elmer Medina passed away Friday morning in St. James Heathcare.

He was born September 16, 1948 in Dixon, New Mexico to Ernesto and Dora Medina.

On May 16, 1975, he married Colleen O'Malley in Butte, Montana, and it is here where they raised their family. He loved to make people laugh with his crazy jokes and funny antics. Laughing was pure medicine for him.

Sam worked at the Anaconda Company as a Smelterman , The Ramada Inn as a Maintance Man, Longmont Foods as a Food Processor, and Bert Mooney Airport as a Groundkeeper. Sam held numerous other jobs to provide for his family.

Colleen, the love of his life, preceded him in death in 2010, as well as his mother Dora Medina, his father Ernesto Medina, and his three brothers, Felix, John, and Albert Medina.

Survivors include his daughter Nicole and son-in-law Dan Hoffman of Columbia Falls, son Bob and daughter-in-law Mia Medina, and son Frank Medina, both of Butte. Also Surviving are 20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his sister Elizabeth (Medina) and husband Robert Prescott, brother Joseph and wife Kitty Medina, numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 08, at Cyn's Bar, located on East Mercury St.
