Robert William "Bobby" Roper went out of this world doing something that he truly loved, riding his Harley.  The King took him to Heaven on the afternoon of September 25, 2022.

Bobby was born to Clarence and Donna Roper on February 05, 1954.  He was the oldest of five children.  He grew up in Butte and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad.  After graduating from Butte High School in 1972, he went on to work at several places, including Stauffer Chemical and the Safeway Warehouse.  He also worked at S & R Janitorial Services, which he and his good friend, Nutsy, ran together for many years.  They serviced many places in different states including the Ice Harbor Dam in the Tri-Cities, several places in Colorado, and the Mall in Butte.  He also managed several bars while living in Colorado.  When he moved back to Butte in 2019, he applied for a job at R & C Lumber.  He was told "he was too damned old to be a laborer", after telling the man he was 66.  Bobby told him, " He wasn't your average 66 year-old" and convinced him to give him a couple of days work.  He was still working there at the time of his death.  That "couple of days" turned into almost three years, proving that he was a hard worker.

Bobby was an entrepreneur at heart.  He could turn a $1.00 into a $100.00 before you knew it.  He was a good son, making sure his mom and dad were taken care of, even when he couldn't be near them.  He was a good brother and a good friend.  He was always happy to help anyone and had a heart of gold under that gruff exterior.  He liked to live life on the wild side but enjoyed every minute.

The past few years he found something that he truly enjoyed, riding with his younger brother, Danny.  He had a glow about him whenever he was riding his Harley and made some good memories.  He will be missed by all who loved him, but we find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his parents and younger sister.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Donna Roper; and his sister, Lori Nugent.  He is survived by his sisters, Janet (Mike) Freebourn and Diana (Ernie) Kingsbury; brother, Dan Roper; nephews, Chad (Victoria) Freebourn, Jason Holmes, and Brian Rosetti; nieces, Mystine (Cole) Freebourn, Jessica (Joe) Petroni, and Erin (Kyle) Rosetti.

Funeral Services will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  Rite of Committal will take place in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.  A further celebration of Bobby's life will be held immediately after graveside services.
