Richard C. Lynch, 91, of Butte Montana, passed away on January 29, 2024 at Continental Care.  He is now reunited with his wife of 60 years, Jeanne, who passed one month earlier.

Richard was born on December 23, 1932 in Murdo, South Dakota to Everette Christian Lynch and Ida Lena (Hronish) Lynch.  He would spend his early years in Deadwood, South Dakota working for his dad's construction company before moving to California to be with his mother and brothers.  There he would enlist in the Marine Corps on July 24, 1950 and was stationed at Moffett Field, California.  He would serve 7 years before being honorably discharged.

After leaving the Marine Corps, Richard would go to work for Portola Motors, an automobile dealership in Watsonville, California.  It was here that he would meet the love of his life, Jeanne Marie Kennedy, a nurse at Stanford University Hospital. They were married on December 31, 1963.  Richard would work his way up in the dealership until ultimately he and Jeanne would become the owners.  Richard would often give speeches at GM conferences around the country. Together they would build the Cadillac dealership into one of the most successful in California.

When Richard wasn't working at the dealership he enjoyed playing golf, hanging out with friends in their motor home on Pismo Beach, and traveling.  He and Jeanne enjoyed trips to Ireland, Italy, and South America.  One of their favorite activities was taking cruises.  After selling the dealership in 2000, he and Jeanne would retire to the Butte Country Club.  You could often find Richard at the 19th hole.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanne, parents, and brothers Truman and Kenneth. Friends may call on Wednesday after 10:00 am in St. Ann's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass be celebrated at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mausoleum at Mountain View Cemetery.
