Richard C. LeCoure April 15, 1947-February 23, 2025

Richard C. "Ric" LeCoure passed away at his residence in Butte.  Ric was born April 15, 1947, in Butte to Gig and Jackie LeCoure, joining brother, Bob, and followed by Steve, Jacques, Joe, Marc, Suzzie and Tom.

Ric attended elementary school at St Patrick, and graduated from Boys Central High School in 1966. He participated in football, key club, speech, and boxing; all of which he was very passionate. We all remember his Charles Atlas physique from the weightlifting, going with key club to the World's Fair in 1962 , from which he brought back a very large Space Needle cigarette lighter, and him practicing his speeches at home, loud and clear!

Ric attended Eastern Montana College in 1967, playing football for the Yellowjackets, and graduating with a teaching certificate. After college he married Beth Hayes of Butte; later  divorced.

Upon returning to Butte, Rick took a shot at teaching at Butte High School.   Nope, didn't suit him! He worked various jobs until getting on with Butte – Silver Bow, eventually managing the Civic Center until 1999. He then went into insurance sales with brother, Bob, until retiring in 2017.

Ric married Linda Cooney also welcoming Linda's children Bobby and Willy. Together they had many wonderful years; later divorced.

There were many pack trips in the Big Hole with his dad, brothers, and life-long pal, John Simonich. Until his final days Ric made many trips to the Big Hole, and also had a liking for Delmo Lake.

Ric is preceded in death by parents; Gig and Jackie LeCoure; brother, Robert (Bob) LeCoure; nephews, Scott LeCoure, Matt LeCoure,and Scott(Scooter) Thomas; and stepchildren, Bobby and Willy.

Surviving siblings; Steve (Claudia) of Bozeman, Jacques (Roberta) of Ellensburg, WA: Joe (Tanya), Marc, and Suzzie (Fred) Thomas, all of Stevensville, Tom of Roseburg, OR. Also bunches and bunches of adoring nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday after 11:00 am in St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (noon).  A further celebration of Ric's life will be held following the Mass.
