Mrs. Renee V. Burns, 91, devoted wife cherished mother and adored grandmother and great grandmother passed away Friday, November 26th, 2021 at Peace Hospice House in Great Falls, MT. Renee was living with her daughter in Great Falls at the time of her death and spent her final days surrounded by family.

Renee was born September 4th, 1930 to Earl Williams and Mary Hollick in Butte, MT. However, she was orphaned around age 8 and given to Bill and Hazel Murphy to be raised. It was not a happy home, but somehow, she developed a strong foundation of faith and prevailed. It was evident in her everyday life that she was rich in her faith and it was her salvation. She went through school and graduated from Butte High School in 1949.

Renee worked at Mountain Bell Telephone Co. as an operator for three years before getting married. She then worked for Eddie's Bakery for a year checking on delivery drivers. She then dedicated herself to her family, they were always first are foremost in her life. She returned to Mountain Bell seventeen years later and worked until the company transferred offices to Helena in 1978.

Renee married the love of her life, Raymond D. Burns on June 28th, 1952. They became the proud parents of six children. They were able to celebrate 59 years of marriage before Ray passed away in April 2007.

Renee enjoyed gardening, loved all the flowers in any array of color. She was a pet lover, but especially loved the birds. She liked to watch old movies and Disney. She was accomplished at her letter writing and never missed an opportunity to keep in touch with her kids or grandkids. Holidays were always made special by her whether it was a yearly ornament, an outfit, the decorations or her perfect Christmas trees and special gifts or good food.

She took great pride in attending all her grandchildren's sporting events and activities. God was good to give us 91 years; countless memories were made, and endless amounts of unconditional love has been spread throughout her family. Renee will be admired for her courage, great strength, faith, and above all her love. She was a mighty invincible, God fearing woman who was loved beyond measure.

Renee is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Burns, son, Danny Burns and daughter, Candice Burns. She is the last survivor of most, if not all her relatives.

She is survived by her four remaining children; Ray Burns of Missoula, Caron Skilling (Dave) of Missoula, Paul Burns (Becky) of Butte, and Mary Winkler (Keith) of Great Falls. Renee has 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as her sister in law, Mrs. Phyllis Burns, the last remaining matriarch.

Parish Vigil will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located on Majors Avenue.  Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.  A reception will be held following graveside services.
