In Loving Memory of Rebecca Patricia Faulkner

Rebecca Patricia Faulkner passed unexpectedly on November 27, 2025, at only 28 years old. Born on July 15, 1997, in Reno Nevada to Mary and Dan Faulkner, Rebecca—known as Becca to family and friends—brought joy and humor to everyone she met.

Becca and her older sister, Megan, spent their formative years in Butte, Montana. Their childhood was filled with adventure, especially during the summers when they would go camping and learn to drive four-wheelers. Becca's favorite place was always the Pattengale campground, a spot that held many happy memories for her. In 2010, the family moved to Billings to support their dad's career. Through all these changes, the sisters remained close, cherishing their shared experiences and memories.

As a child, Becca loved basketball so much that in elementary school she once accidentally scored for the opposing team. When her athletic aspirations shifted, Becca discovered a passion for Irish Dance and the violin. She had a remarkable musical ear, often listening to her Uncle Mick Cavanaugh play a song and then recreating it almost perfectly on her own violin. This musical gift even led her and her younger cousin Kaitlyn, who danced, earning some money playing the violin near the Folk Festival in Butte one year. Although she only knew one song, their performance—and the charm of two young girls—filled her violin case with crumpled dollar bills from generous festival-goers.

At the age of seven, Becca was diagnosed with type 1 juvenile diabetes. From that moment on she and her dad were inseparable. He was her biggest champion in learning to live with such a difficult disease.  With encouragement from her family and doctor, Becca became an advocate for other children living with type 1 diabetes. She attended camp every summer until high school and even organized her own American Diabetes Association TourdeCure bike team, Team I-Pump. Her Team took 3rd place in funds raised in 2010.

Even before her diagnosis, Becca was fascinated by everything medical. Family anecdotes recall her concern for her great aunt Julie Baby's "sticking" finger, which she dutifully reported to her pediatrician as her own symptom. As she grew older, her interest in medicine only deepened. After a snowboarding accident, she humorously told EMTs her pain was a 10 and asked to receive a "butt sling." Her first-hand experiences with healthcare inspired her to pursue a career in the medical field.

After graduating from Skyview High School in 2016, Becca earned a certificate in phlebotomy. She spent several years considering her path, torn between cosmetology and medicine, but ultimately chose healthcare, obtaining her CNA license. At the time of her passing, she was planning to attend MSUB with the goal of becoming an x-ray technician. Becca's dedication and compassion promised a bright future in helping others.

Becca is preceded in death by several beloved family members: her grandparents, Audrey and Swede Cavanaugh and Al and Gere Faulkner; her great aunt Jule "Julie Baby" McLeod; and her Aunt Debbie Brooks and Gary Mike "Uncle Buck" Faulkner.

She is survived by her parents, Dan and Mary Faulkner; her sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Phil Kreuscher aunts and uncles, Sharon (Jim) Swendseid, Mick Cavanaugh, Colleen (Lorr) Safratowich, Terri (Dave) Ewan, Karen (Dan) Foley, Alan (Kris) Faulkner, Christie (Kevin) Kranjcec, Mike Brooks and several cousins who will cherish her memory.

Friends may call on June 12, 2026 after 10:00 am in the .Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter, reflecting Becca's love for animals and her caring spirit or to the America Diabetes Association.

It's hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.  Rest easy Becca, you will be missed more than words can say.
