Rae Lynn Terkla passed away on May 09, 2024 in Butte, Montana.  She was born in Butte on December 21, 1962, the daughter of Harry and Janet (Shaw) Powley.

Rae Lynn was a great cook and Restaurant Manager.  She was employed by CCCS at the time of her death where she worked as Supervisor of Food Service, making sure that there was enough food for 150-170 people every day.

Rae Lynn loved animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses.  She came home from work one night and announced, "I want to shoot gophers".   After hunting gophers every night for a week, she decided to get her own rifle.    She graduated from gophers to elk.  She was a successful elk hunter, downing 10 or so animals … not bad for not hunting until she turned 40.

Rae Lynn is survived by her husband, John Terkla; her mother, Janet Powley; her brothers, Steven and Mark Powley; and her sister, Karen Hasler.  She is also survived by her four-legged kids and numerous cherished friends.

A celebration of Rae Lynn's life will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 12:00 PM (noon) in the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at the corner of Idaho and Park Streets.
