Mr. Peter "Pete" Joseph LaMere, 73 passed away Monday February 21, in Butte. He was born August 15, 1948, in Havre, Montana the son of Thomas LaMere and Bertha Descharme.

Pete received his education in Helena and then in Twin Bridge's Children's Center. He moved back to Butte for a short time and was later drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Germany. After his military tour, he moved to Butte and took drafting at the Vo-Tech. He later began his career driving trucks at the Anaconda Company and also working the railroad in Missoula.

Pete had many hobbies that he enjoyed doing as a past time, such as, drawings and sketching of Native are, leather work, and playing his guitar for all who would listen.

Pete had a very fulfilling life and had eight children who all loved him dearly.

Pete was preceded in death by his father, Thomas LaMere, mother Bertha Descharme; and brothers, Mark, Wayne, Ron and Jerry LaMere, step-son Michael Biggs. Surviving relatives include his wife Helen; sons and daughters; Shawn (Nancy) LaMere, Shelly (Jason) Booth, Tanya LaMere, Nathan (Mistea) LaMere, Anthony LaMere, Peter (Jillian) LaMere, Clint (Sara) LaMere, Nicholas (Tia) LaMere. Step-children Carl Standing Elk, Dee Dee Berryman, Porscha and Tamara Hartman. 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Marilyn (Albert) Silva, Patricia LaMere, Susan (Doc) Watson, Marty Laney, Raymond LaMere and Gail LaMere. He is also survived by an aunt, Jean Descharme and uncle Charlie Descharme and many friends to numerous to mention.

Pete loved the outdoors especially fishing and camping. He also enjoyed a good backyard fire hanging out with family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday February 26, at 10:30AM in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Private family placement of ashes will take place at a later date.   Memorials are suggested to a Veteran's Organization or to a charity of donor's choice.
