Patrick Francis Maloughney passed away at his residence in Butte on January 02, 2025.  Pat was born in Butte on February 18, 1942, to John "Jack" and Ann (Morgan) Maloughney.  He was raised in Butte with his siblings: Mickey, Nancy, Jim, and Dan.

Pat graduated from Boys Central High School before attending Butte Business College.  He married Nancy Lester and together they shared 60 years of marriage until Nancy's death in May of 2022.  When Nancy died, he missed her terribly.  Following Business College, Pat and Nancy moved to California.  They missed Montana too much, so they returned to Butte.  In the 1970's, they moved to Polson, Montana, where Pat opened Pat's Flathead Gulf Service Station.  They later returned to Butte, where Pat was employed by at the Berkeley Pit.  He also worked as a Janitor for Butte-Silver Bow at the Courthouse.  Pat loved to work on cars and also enjoyed going to sporting events to his children's sporting events with Nancy.   He loved Notre Dame football, the New York Yankees, and the Denver Broncos.

Nancy and Pat had 3 children, Shawn and Sandy, by whom he will be greatly missed, and Tammy, who passed away in 2018.  He was blessed with two grandsons, Tim (Daniell) Broxholm and Connor Poppe; and two great-grandsons, Ray and Joey.  He is also survived by his son-in-law, Lowell Poppe.  When Pat married Nancy, he gained another family.  He always said, "All the Lesters have been good to me."  They include Bill and Rita, Tom and Betty, Ted and Kay Fasso, Ed and Lavern Lally, Jim, Bob, Charles, and Tom and Sue Molitor.  He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews.  He loved hearing all about their stories.  His family and friends were always in his prayers.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Parish Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am, with visitation to follow at 10:00 am.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
