Patricia Grace Scown-Gleason, age 85, passed away on January 21, 2025, while living at The Springs Assisted Living in Butte, Montana.  She was born on June 04, 1939, in Jamaica, New York, to Leo A. and Gladys M. (Kemp) Meehan.

Pat was a kind daughter, sister, teacher, wife, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, and great-grandmother.  She was a member of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth (SCL) in Kansas for 12 years, before moving to Butte.  She left the religious orders to marry James J. Scown, and live in beautiful Montana.  They were married for 45 years, until Jim's death in 2017.  She was stepmom to Burke, Jimmy, Joe, Cheryl, and John Scown.  Pat was devoted to God and family.  She taught in Butte for most of her career, teaching at St. Lawrence O'Toole in Walkerville, Whittier, and North Central Junior High among others.  She had a passion for all animals.  For many years, she worked on the Spay and Neuter Taskforce in Butte.  Pat traveled all over the world and enjoyed family reunions.  Her last 5 years, Jim Gleason was devoted to Pat.  Joe and Marjory Scown,loved, cared, and helped her for many years.  Her giggle could light up a room and she will be missed by family, friends, and past students.

Pat is survived by members of the Scown Family, three Meehan siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Friday, April 4, 2025, after 10:00 am in St. Ann's Catholic Church.
