Monica Evans Cavanaugh passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 27 ^th after a long heroic battle with cancer.

Monica was the smile we often needed, the kind person we knew we could lean on, the advisor that often knew what we needed, even if we didn't know ourselves. She was the foundation that would bring and keep us together. Mostly Monica was an unwaveringly wonderful person who left her mark on her family, the Butte Community, her customers, and friends far and wide. She will be long remembered and missed.

Monica is survived by her loving husband, John "Jake" Cavanaugh, her sons Cody Cavanaugh and Jerod (Cindy) Driscoll. Her grandchildren Tiffany Gruber, Calub Thilmony, Alexus Thilmony. Her Sister-in-law, Marie Steyh Cavanaugh. Her Sisters, Colleen (Butch) Pomeroy, Patrice Evans, Marlene Davis, and Catherine Cox. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Hatem (Megan)Chahine, Corey (Kim) Thornton, Mick Pomeroy; Eric (Danielle Nye) White; Griffin (Brittany) Davis, Gwenna(Caleb) Meyer; Caiti (Jeff) Eby, Hank (Ashley) Cox, Michael "Mac" Cox, Abby (Cameron Corcorine) Cox; Will (Joyce) Steyh, and Sue (Scott) Irvin. Many great nieces and nephews.

Monica was preceding in death, by her parents Robert "Bob" and Bonnie (Mullins) Evans and her brother Robin Evans.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Butte medical community and the staff and at St. James Healthcare, Compassus Hospice, the entire Butte Community, and her many friends and customers over the years at Cavanaugh's County Celtic and Beyond.

Monica's services will be Saturday at St. Ann's Church to accommodate a large crowd and allow for social distancing. 10:00 AM visitation, followed by the funeral at 11:00 with a grand Irish reception to follow at the Butte Depot. If you plan to attend any of the functions, Monica would love to have her friends get their Irish on with the wearin' of the green.
