Mildred (Stanisich) Todorovich was born May 05, 1930 at an Eastside birthing house in Butte, Montana.  It was Mother's Day.  This history forever defined her life's path.  Her parents, Marco and Mara, immigrated from modern day Montenegro.  They named their only daughter Milka M. Stanisich.  Milka, of the family of Marko, was customary in the Serbian Orthodox religion.  Milka joined her older brother, Judo, and soon to be younger brother, Mirco.  Their father, Marko, a miner, died when she was 10 years old.  Teachers at the Grant School encouraged a legal name change to Mildred.  This was not unusual for first generation birthright citizens of the United States.

Mildred attended the Grant School for eight years, one of the few students in her class to do so.  In addition, she attended Serbian language literacy school on Saturday and Serbian Orthodox religion school on Sunday.  As a young woman, and daughter of a widowed single immigrant mother, it was her responsibility to be that link.  The original Serbian Orthodox Church, built in 1905 and located on the corner of Platinum and Idaho Streets, was the hub of her Butte life.  The "Babas" of the Butte diocese kept their eyes on Mildred and her mother.  This bond was a lifetime blessing.

Mildred graduated Butte High School on June 10, 1948, with an emphasis on secretarial studies.

From 1948 to 1950, Mildred worked in a laundry.  She assumed Judo's job during his enlistment in the United States Army.  She also worked at Pork Chop John's.  Both were difficult labor positions.  Getting a paycheck for the first time made the hours tolerable.  Mildred was also employed by Brink's as a secretary.  Her most important job was keeping her mother, Mara's, immigrant file current.

In 1949, Mildred met Thomas Todorovich through mutual friends at church.  Their first date was "anywhere she wanted to go".  She chose dancing and cocktails in uptown Butte.  Tommy was handsome, kind, and generous.  They were married on June 04, 1950.  Mildred moved to Anaconda, where her husband worked for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company (ACM) at the smelter powerhouse as a machinist.  Tommy remodeled their home at 714 E. Third St. to her liking, complete with Venetian blinds.  Mildred was the first in town to have them.  She was quite fond of fashion and design.

Through a mother's eyes, Anaconda was a welcoming town.  It was culturally diverse and friendly.  Mildred and Tommy raised five children, with births across a seventeen-year span. Bobby was born in 1951, Tushie in 1952, Richy in 1954, and Mark and Michelle in i1968.  Mildred enjoyed Monday shopping with her friend, Angie, which was much more than shopping, coffee with her friends, Helen and Dee, evening walks with her friend, Carol, and monthly evening Ladies Club meeting.  Although just 24 miles away, the yearning for her home in Butte pulled at her heartstrings.  She loaded her toddlers, and her buggy, on an Intermountain Bus headed for Butte.  Butte was the "Big Apple" in her heart.  There were many sporting events with families packed into the stands, be it the Commons, Washoe Park, Memorial Gym, or Mitchell Stadium.  The Todorovich family had a love of sports.  In 1960, Tommy and Mildred undertook the monumental task of building their dream cabin at Piney Point  on Daisy Lane on Georgetown Lake.  It was a decade long, hands on, project.  "The Cabin" remains a family destination for all ages and every generation.

Milred worked outside her home at Hearthstone Assisted Living Center and the cafeteria of Anaconda Public Elementary Schools.

Tommy passed away on August 18, 1990.  Mildred moved to the Legion Oasis, in Butte, in 1994, where she lived an active, independent, life for thirty years.  Once again, she became involved in the Mother's Club, fundraisers, weddings, and galas in her Church community.  Prior to her death, Mildred was the oldest living member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church.  Mildred also loved to travel and people everywhere were her passion.  Be it San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, New York City, or Boston, she embraced conversation and found common ground with others.

On August 01, 2024, Midred moved to Copper Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She remained there for fourteen months.  "Millie", as she was known by the residents and staff, was well cared for and treated with warmth and respect.  Mildred passed away on September 27, 2025 with her son, Mark, by her side.

As was the greatest gift of a long life, Mildred grew into the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved each one of them and was fiercely proud of them all.  She'd sit close, hug, hold hands, and listen to their stories and share some surprises of her own.

In addition to her husband, who preceded her in death by 35 years, she was preceded by her parents, brothers, her granddaughter, Ashley Faith Dusabek; and her great-grandson, Samuel Ryan Todorovich.  She is survived by her children; Bob (Marilyn) Todorovich (Scott and Nicky, Teresa and Matt). Trish Stark (Kris and Liz, and Mike), Rich (Colleen) Todorovich (Christie, Ryan and Lindsey, and Jon and Annah), Mark Todorovich, and Michelle (Mike) Dusabek (Gracie), great-grandchildren; Logan, Madilyn, Tyse,  and Kruz Todorovich: Colton (Katie), Emma, and Brett Grange: Jack, Charlie, and Maggie Stark, June and Bode Todorovich: and Cooper Todorovich; and nieces and nephews, Jorja Norton, Jody Dick, and Steve Stanisich, Ann Komac, Jan Rouse, and Tom Blodnick.   The Lucich family for their guiding light.

Mildred's ashes will be interred on November 17, 2025 at 9:00 am in the Todorovich Plot in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda.  Memorial Services and Blessing will be held at 11:00 am in Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church.  A further celebration of Mildred's life will follow Services.  Memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church.
