Matt Bugni passed Oct 1st, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Butte, MT.  Matt was born March 4th, 1932, to Eva Bugni (Cerise) and Charles Bugni in Meaderville. His friends and co-workers nick named him Tuttie, that trademark nick name would follow him to his final resting place.  His family affectionately called him Pat or Paddy.  We are not sure by choice or expulsion, but he retired from his academic career at the ripe old age of 15 from Franklin elementary.  God bless his teachers and principle; we are in hopes that they can make amends in heaven.   Matt was able to sew most of his wild oates and then some (just ask his mom Eva) prior to his 35th birthday. Matt then met and married Arlene Bajovich, whom he enjoyed a marriage of over 50 years with. They would yield two sons, Dino and Gino.  After the birth of his first son Dino, Matt became a very dedicated family man providing for his wife and kids. The birth of his second son Gino, only deepened that commitment to his family.   Pat joined the military in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He would serve our country at Dug Way Proving Ground in Salt Lake City, Utah.  His early career included working at the Belmont and Leonard mines, cutting meat at Western Meats and Hanson Packing, hod carrying, tile laying, and cement finishing for Hanna Tile. He then picked a career as a laborer serving his entire stint with Taylor Macdonald and Walsh Construction.  He was a proud member of the Labors Union from 1956 until the day he passed, for almost 67 years. Pat could also be found on either side of the bar at Sam's Place in Meaderville.  He was either earning a wage as a bartender or spending his wage as a favored patron.  Pat was a private person later in life not enjoying crowds, or any type of hubbub. He rarely felt the need to eat out or join big gatherings, but rather stay at home tending the yard, re-arranging the garage and most importantly care taking his wife Arlene. Matt excelled at being a compassionate husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.  He played a HUGE part in the upbringing of his grandkids and great granddaughter, Cole, Heather, and Avah. He played a vital role in helping them become the strong people they are today.  Commitment to his entire family was his life.  Nothing will replace him, a void left forever empty.  He is preceded in death by his wife Arlene and brother Lawrence, who was taken in a tragic mining accident while working for the Anaconda Company in 1975. He is survived by the following loved ones: Bob Bugni, Arthur Bugni, Marie "Babe" Bajovich, Dino Bugni, Gino and Julie Bugni, Heather Bugni, Rob Nadeau, Avah Nadeau, and Cole Bugni. Bob and Matt always shared a special relationship from having coffee every day to helping one another with projects. The family would like to thank Bob for his caregiving and devotion to Matt during his last years.
