Mary McGee passed away in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 3rd.  Mary was born Friday, November 13th, 1942, in Butte, Montana to Leo and Queenie Lynch and was the second of four children (Ann, JD, and Leo). Mary attended St. Patrick's grade school and graduated from Girls Central in 1960.

Her first jobs were at the movie theater and the P.O. News Stand before starting a career as a checker at Western Warehouse and Safeway. She also enjoyed her time working at Heavenly Occasions and raising her four children.

In October of 1962, Mary married Leonard Olson. Together they had two children, Michelle, who died shortly after birth, and Tony. Mary and Leonard were later divorced. Mary then met the love of her life, William McGee, and they married April 2nd, 1972.  They had three children: Billy, Michonne, and Monique.

Mary was a Butte woman through and through. She was known for her delicious pasties, witty one-liners, and keeping William "Papa Bill" on his toes. Her positivity throughout her declining health was a testament to her strong will.

What Mary enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family and friends.  She was affectionately known as Nana to her six "Dollies" (granddaughters)- all of whom could do no wrong in Nana's eyes: Taylor Olson, Madi McGee, Molly & Samantha McHugh, and Riley & Dylan Duffy.  In her later years, Mary looked forward to her 3 o'clock visit at Hops to see friends John & Penny, Gladdy & Floyd, Jim, Dan, Sandy, and many more.

Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, William, her children: Tony Olson (Teresa) of Butte; Billy McGee of Butte; Michonne McHugh (Tim) of Missoula; Monique Duffy (Todd) of Butte, her six Dollies, Justin Duffy (Shannon) and Shawn Duffy, sister, Ann Walsh, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Leo and Queenie Lynch; brothers Leo and JD Lynch; and daughter Michelle Olson.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Enhabit home health for taking care of Mary during this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Butte Central Foundation, Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter, or donor's choice.

Funeral services will be held at St. Ann's church Friday, December 13th. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am.
