Mrs. Marion Thea Carlile passed away early Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  Marion was born on October 25, 1956 in Wurzburg, Bavaria to Egils H. and Rosamunde (Goebel) Krolls.

The Krolls family relocated from Bavaria to Sterling, Illinois, where Marion was raised.   Growing up, she babysat the neighborhood children and helped raise her three younger sisters. During High School, Marion volunteered as a Candy Striper doing what Marion always did best, taking care of people.  She graduated from Sterling High School in 1975.  After High School graduation, Marion went on to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, where she studied Early Childhood Education.

While living in Sterling, Marion met the great love of her life, Terry Reed Carlile.  They were married at the Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 23, 1977.  They remained constant companions until her passing

As a young couple, Terry and Marion lived in Provo, Utah and started a family.  Marion worked while Terry worked toward a degree from Brigham Young University.  While raising their family they lived throughout Utah and Wyoming.  After their children graduated, the couple moved to Glen Falls, New York, where Marion was employed as an inspector for the USDA.  They settled in Butte in 2007.  Her friendly disposition and outgoing personality made her a model Sales Associate at the local Walmart Supercenter.  She later left Walmart to spend time doing what she loved the most, taking care of her grandchildren, Antonio and Lily June.  Throughout her life, Marion found comfort and strength in her strong faith in God and Jesus Christ, and was an active member of the LDS Church.

Marion was preceded in death by her mother, Rosamunde Krolls.  In addition to her loving husband, Terry, she is survived by her children, Melissa (Michael) Pennetta, Joshua (Kris) Carlile, Peter (Jamie) Carlile, and James (Krystelle) Carlile; and her grandchildren, Logan and Ari Carlile, Landyn Carlile, Damon Carlile, and Antonio and Lily June Pennetta.  She is also survived by her father, Egils Krolls; her sisters, Agnes Petrie, Barbara Miller, and Yvonne Lather, her adopted family, Casie Hayden and Dylan Bartle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and four-legged furbabies.

Friends are asked to join the family on Friday at 2:00 PM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 1351 Mount Highland Drive.  Entombment of Ashes will follow Funeral Services in Mountain View Cemetery.
