On Friday, April 30 ^th 2021, Margaret "Margie, Miggie" Laughlin, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 81. She struggled leaving this realm for the next. We told her it was ok to join Dad and Donald. She passed away peacefully in comfort care at St. James hospital after having had some recent falls and physical decline. She was loved, admired and appreciated for her devotion to her family.

Mom and her identical twin Kathy were born on December 27, 1939, to parents Louis and Katherine Pochervina in Butte, joining brother Louis and sister Mary Jo. It is true what is said about twins, as the two of them were more than sisters and better than friends.  Mom's passing leaves us with a broken heart for our beloved Aunt Kathy.

Mom met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Laughlin of Anaconda while he was a freshman attending Montana Tech "School of Mines".  They were wed on September 19, 1959.   With dad's teaching career in Anaconda, it was there they settled and a family was born and raised.   The mother of three children, all close in age, we were blessed that dad's career(s) allowed for her to be a stay-at-home mom, an exhausting and rewarding job, which she cherished.  With mom being a wonderful homemaker, we always had home cooked meals, an immaculately clean house and laundry expertly folded and ironed.  She ran us to all of our events, practices and dance lessons.  We always knew mom had the toughest job in the family.  Knowing she was home and ready for whatever adventures and neighborhood games we were playing she and dad gave us the best childhood ever.  In addition to taking care of us, there was always a warm breakfast ready for any friend, even those who spent the night in the back of the Model "A".

As we grew older, mom waitressed at the K Club, Gil's and the Copper Bowl Cafe. With her dear friend Marilyn Strommen, they began a catering business out of the Elks Lodge and the Anaconda Country Club where they prepared meals for multiple reunions, wedding receptions and special events.

During her free time, mom loved her Monday night bridge games with her closest friends, bowling, breakfast and gambling on Saturdays, trips to Jackpot and Wendover, and Copperhead ticket sales at the Memorial Gym and Mitchell Stadium with her friend Ann Marie Allen.

But her focus was always family.  She loved her children and grandchildren above all else, she was an amazing mother and grandmother.  For many years she was able to spend time with her granddaughters as they were growing up, shuttling them to school and home, and to their practices and events.  But most importantly, mom just loved always being with the girls, providing them with whatever they needed and always being there for them.  Those years with her granddaughters provided her with very special memories.

On June 25, 2010 mom's heart was broken when her youngest son Donald passed away. Then in December 2014 dad suddenly passed.  After dad passed, mom decided to move to Butte where she could be closer to her family.  Mom and Aunt Kathy spent endless hours together, going to breakfast, gambling in town and continued to go on trips to Wendover and Jackpot.  In the past year it was obvious the twins needed to live together, so Aunt Kathy moved into mom's house, then together into Copper Ridge Health and Rehab Center.   During the years mom lived in Butte she enjoyed spending time with her sister Mary Jo and her nieces and nephews; most important to her were the visits.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband Bob, son Donald, brother Louie "Porchie", her parents Louis and Katherine Pochervina, in-laws Coleman and Irma Laughlin and niece Vickie Petritz.  Mom is survived by her son John (Lancaster, CA), daughter Robin Mantell (Jim), twin sister and best friend Kathy Pochervina, sister Mary Jo Riley, her granddaughters; Miranda Smith, Kailee Fabatz (Kevin), Alison Mantell and several great grandchildren all of Butte.  Mom is also survived by nieces and nephews:  Debbie Burns (Craig), Michael Pochervina (Maria), David Pochervina (Mary Ann), Tom Petritz and Aunt Florence Mahoney all of Butte.

• A special thank you to Mary Ann Pochervina for preparing the special hot & spicy dish for mom's last Thanksgiving 2020, you know that is the way she liked it… and to Konnor Pochervina for the use of his muscles in getting "the twins" into the house to enjoy that special dinner.  To Keeley Pochervina for getting the radio tuned to Konnor's football games.

• Nieces,nephews and their wonderful spouses who ran errands, picked up food, cooked and brought over meals and groceries, medications, handled maintenance issues and took mom to her doctor appointments, searches for Kathy's misplaced items and of course the visits.

• Amanda and 406 Quality Home Health Care team:  Your kindness, quality care and time spent was much appreciated.

• The entire staff at Copper Ridge for keeping mom and Aunt Kathy together and as comfortable as possible. Notable moments, the Christmas lunch,the wonderful visits, including her beloved dog, Scruffy, so that she knew we loved her.

• The St. James nurses, CNA's and staff on the 3 ^rd floor for allowing us to visit mom and keeping her comfortable in her final days.  Your kindness and caring will never be forgotten. You are appreciated.

A celebration of mom's life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations In mom's memory can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Montana or the American Diabetes Association.
