Lynn Petersen, age 62, of Butte, Montana, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 6, 2016, following a short but fierce battle with cancer. Born in Townsend, Montana on October 2, 1953, Lynn was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Jarosh) Plummer. She was raised on the family ranch at Toston, Montana.

Lynn graduated from Broadwater High School in 1971 and attended Helena Vo-Tech. She was a journeyman electrician for Mountain Bell Telephone in Helena, Missoula, and Butte, working as a testing technician.

Lynn met Ray Petersen on a blind date in April, 1972. They were married November 10, 1972 and enjoyed each other's company for 44 years. Lynn and Ray had three children: Shannon (John Brunet) of Minneapolis, Adam of Missoula, and Wade of Helena.

Lynn will be fondly remembered for her generosity, sparkling sense of humor, and the love she spread amongst family and friends. She enjoyed serving Gloria Dei Lutheran Church; she helped with vacation bible school and was active in WELCA. She especially enjoyed the Tuesday morning ladies' Bible study at Gamer's Café.

Lynn is survived by her husband, children, brothers Terry, Tracy, and Hal Plummer, and her sister, Lana Finch.

Services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, September 14th at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. A visitation hour will be held the same day, from 10:00am to 11:00am. According to her wishes, Lynn's ashes will be spread on the family ranch in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shodair Children's Hospital.
