JMrs. Lucy Marie Pesanti passed away on Wednesday morning, July 27, 2022, in Big Sky Assisted Living.  Lucy was born in Butte on September 07, 1927, to William R. and Mary Ellen (Lynch) Stern.  She attended St. John the Evangelist Parochial School and graduated from Butte High School in 1945.   She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Parish, where she was baptized, received her First Holy Communion and Confirmation, was married, and from where she will be buried.

Lucy's employment career started at Montana Hardware.  She was also a secretary at Texaco and retired as Chief Deputy Bankruptcy Clerk.

On June 23, 1951, Lucy married Alfred J. Pesanti.  He preceded her in death on July 28. 1986.

Lucy travelled throughout the United States and visited several foreign countries.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1945.  She also enjoyed playing bridge.

In addition to her husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William R. "Bill" Stern, Jr. in 1998, and Michael F. "Fred" Stern in 2000.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Maggie Pesanti; grandchildren, Jamie and Zach Breen, and Joshua Pesanti, all of Butte; great-grandchildren, Danny, Kinzlee, and Easton Breen; and numerous other relatives.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 3rd after 10:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located on Majors Ave.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
