Louis Clarence Vicevich, 85

Born to Albert Vicevich and Louise Blaskovich Vicevich in 1937. Louis was raised in McQueen in Butte MT. He attended Holy Savior and Butte High School. After graduating from high school, he earned a teaching degree from Western Montana College and roomed with his lifelong friend, Jeff Satterly. Early in his teaching career, Louis taught briefly in Sheridan, Montana serving as science teacher, coach and bus driver.  He returned to Butte and taught science at East and Butte High for 30 years.  His proclivity for eraser slingshots and pyrotechnic experiments earned him the nickname "Mad Lou". In retirement he worked for Western grading students in the teaching program. He also served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Southwestern Montana.

Lou was well known for his povitica and other Croatian dishes. A true jack of all trades Louis moonlighted building his own home or remodeling for others.  When in coveralls one never knew if there were a strudel in the oven or a carburetor on the dining room table.  He is preceded in death by his brother Albert. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice. His son David and daughter-in-law, Gillian. His grandson Justis, and the light of his life his granddaughter Amara.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on January 27 ^th at the McQueen Club beginning at 4 pm.

In lieu of memorials a donation can be made in his honor to Habitat for Humanity of Southwestern Montana.
