Lorena Krause

Lorena passed away February 2, at home surrounded by family.

Lorena was born to Frank & Christina Maloughney, the second of four children, and lived in Centerville attending St Lawrence Catholic Grade School and going to St Lawrence Church where she played the organ when needed. Lorena then went on to Girl's Central Catholic High School where she enjoyed being a part of the Girl's Central Twirlers. She married her high school sweetheart Chuck Krause and together they had three children. Lorena was a stay at home mom while raising her children and when they got older she went to work for Dr. Donald O'Neil where she stayed for 17 yrs. After leaving that position she went to work for the Butte 4C's, and stayed there for 30 years. The 4C's quickly became her passion and thrived on the fact that they were there to help children and Day Care Providers. Lorena early on was the Food Program Manager and then became the 4C's Financial Manager and Advisor for the Adult and Child Care Program. In the position of Financial Manager she was very proud that she went through a Federal Audit without any audit exceptions every year. She said that she did not retire from 4C's, but resigned due to health issues that wouldn't let her go to the office. Lorena adored all her grandkids and great-grandkids enjoying spending as much time as possible with them. One of her favorite days of the year was St Patricks Day and looked forward to it every year. Another of her favorite things is when May 1 ^st came and Ennis Lake was open for the summer, spending every weekend there as well as some days during the week.

Lorena was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Christi, sister and brother-in-law Shirley & Don Warner, niece Kim Warner, and brother-in-law Les Nelson. Also father and mother-in-law Charlie & Helen Krause and brother-in-law Jack Vanisko. She is survived by Husband Chuck, sons Rob and Tom (Vicki) Krause, grandkids Kristopher, Devin & Brody Krause, Lindsay (Zac)Bushman, Morgan (Matthew) Nava and five great grandchildren. Also her sister Colleen Nelson & brother and sister-in-law Mike & Averil Maloughney and sisters-in-law Suze Krause and Sheila Vanisko.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday February 8, 2022 at St Patrick's church. Family will receive guests beginning at 10:00am, Mass at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Barb Mahugh Memorial Fund, in c/o Butte 4C's, or charity of choice.
