Linda Kay Tregear passed away Saturday, June 27th after a long battle with Parkinsons and dementia.

Linda was born April 30, 1954 to Frank and Audrey Bissell in Butte. She was the youngest of 4 children.  She grew up on the west side attending McKinley, West Junior High and Butte High Schools.

Linda married Wayne Tregear on June 30, 1972 in Butte.  They were married 52 years at the time of her death.  They had 2 children: Katie and Nick. Wayne and Linda made Walkerville their home for nearly 50 years.

Linda was a housewife but she also bartended at the Friendly Tavern, Pissers Palace and the Goodwill Tavern for many years.  She  was very active while raising her children; playing softball,  waterskiing, bowling,  playing pool and darts. She also was and avid weight lifter and could be seen cycling all the way to the nine-mile and back daily.  Her real passion was hunting and fishing.  She loved to float and fish on the Big Hole River and hunt near Bernice.

After raising her children,  Linda took up woodworking.  She carved amazing wildlife scenes in the clocks and tables she made.

Linda had a great dry sense of humor & didn't suffer fools lightly. Rather than say anything derogatory about anyone, you could always tell what she was thinking with her laugh and her wry smile. She lived her life with little to say unless it was worth saying. Idle chit-chat was not her thing. She was not often affectionate, but we all knew she loved us. She loved her family & would do anything for them.

Linda was preceded in death by parents Frank and Audrey Bissell, sister Nancy Jones, brother Frank Bissell, in-laws; Bill and Bernice Tregear, grandmother Ruth Tregear, brother in-law Mike Tregear, sisters in-law Ellen Calcaterra and Hazel McGivern. She had also recently lost close friends Chuck and Helen Goodwin.

Linda is survived by husband Wayne Tregear, children Katie (Brandon) Mattson and Nick (Jennifer) Tregear, grandchildren Xander and Grace Mattson and Jonathon Tregear, sister Karyl (Ernie) Jorgenson, brother in-law Bill (Teri) Tregear, sister in-law Jerri Tregear and numerous nieces and nephews. A special acknowledgement to the Sheehan/Holm/McDonald family, her "hunting camp" family and her Walkerville " family".

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Stillwater Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to Linda.

Cremation has taken place and internment of her ashes will take place at a later date.

A celebration of life will take place at the Butte Depot on Saturday, August 17th at 1pm.
