Linda Lombardi Facincani, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, passed away on February 5, 2026, from complications resulting from a fall at her home.  She was born on April 6, 1946, the first child of Mary (Roose) and Harry Lombardi. Her brother Chuck joined the family in 1948.  The family resided in Meaderville until 1952 when they moved into a home built by their parents at the corner of Marcia and Farragut Streets.  Linda's brother Mark joined the family in 1960.  Linda continued to live with her parents in this home until her marriage.

Linda attended St. Ann's Elementary School where she was once May Queen because she was the tallest girl in the class.  She also attended Girls Central (64), Montana Tech and MSU (68).  She had many happy memories of her time working at Columbia Gardens during the summers when she was in high school and college.  After graduating from MSU, Linda taught high school for one year at Deer Lodge.  She started teaching at Butte High in 1969 where she taught English and American Literature until retirement in 2001. For several years she served as yearbook and school newspaper advisor.  She earned her master's degree from Western Montana College while teaching at Butte High and was chair of the English department when she retired.

She married Bob Facincani in 1987 and moved to their home on Aspen Lane.  In 1989, they welcomed their son, Lee.  The three of them continued Linda's lifelong love of travel, often combining travel adventures with visits to Bob's son Glen, Bob's son Greg and his family, and Linda's brother Mark and his wife Joan.  They enjoyed several cruises and visits to places including Europe, Asia and South America.  They also enjoyed frequent trips to Las Vegas and other sites around the U.S.

In 2022, Linda and Bob moved to a cottage at Big Sky Senior Living.  Linda loved her bright and sunny home, and she soon made more friends and settled into the community.

Linda enjoyed get-togethers like monthly gatherings with her Girls Central class of 64 alumni and fellow retired school employees.  She exercised her artistic talents working on ceramic pieces and enjoyed the social aspect of her ceramics group.  She also enjoyed shopping.  Any time was a good time for a trip to Helena or Bozeman.  When she was at home, she enjoyed keeping up with current affairs, cooking, embroidery and working on the daily crossword puzzle with Bob.

She was active in the community during and after her teaching career.  She held almost every elective office in the Butte Teachers Union including president.  She managed a political campaign for her friend, Georgene Cachola.  She volunteered with Delta Kappa Gamma, The Lady of the Rockies, Butte Chamber of Commerce and Retired School Employees.  Most recently, she was secretary of the Residents Committee at Big Sky Senior Living.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Chuck Lombardi, her husband Bob, and her stepson Glen Facincani.  She leaves her son Lee, her brother Mark and his wife Joan, her stepson Greg, and Greg's children with Betsy Facincani, Sara and Ethan and numerous cousins and friends to treasure her memory.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at St. Vincent Neuro department in Billings, Big Sky Senior Living, Crest Nursing Home, The Springs Memory Care and Honeybee Hospice in Butte.  The family would also like to recognize her cousin Susan Dorr for her tireless care and support of Linda.

The family has decided to celebrate Linda's life and legacy and commend her to God's care in April, fresh from the promise of Easter and, on what would have been her 80th birthday.

Friends may call on April 08, 2026 after 10:00 am in St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
