It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend.

Lewis Fellows (Lewie), 70, of Butte, Montana, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, with his family by his side. Lewie was born on December 17, 1954, to Lewis (Red) and Eleanor Fellows, the seventh of 10 children. He grew up in Butte and graduated from St. Pat's grade school.  Lewie then completed his education at Butte High School in 1974. During this time, he worked with his dad in underground mining at the Stewart Mine.  His senior year Lewie would purposely move at his own pace, so that he could get a tardy slip from the cute attendance lady, Nancy Jo Corak, who would quickly become the love of his life. Lewie proposed to Nancy on the night of his graduation, and they were married four months later on October 5, 1974. They welcomed their first child, Jamey Thomas in 1977 and later Chad Michael in 1980.

Lewie earned his apprenticeship as a mechanic at Stauffer Chemical where he worked for 23 years. He then joined UA Local 41 and traveled with his son Chad on numerous jobs to include UA Local 30, as a plumber/pipefitter for over 20 years. Lewie made the decision to retire and was happy to be home after traveling for many years. After being back at home Lewie was lucky to have the opportunity to work for Mike Thatcher at CCCS. To finalize his employment, he was excited to return to the mine and give underground tours at the Mining Museum.

Lewie lived life to the fullest. You always knew where he was with that infectious laugh.  He` loved hunting, fishing, and camping (especially being the superintendent of the wood chopping). Lewie looked forward to his yearly hunting trip to the Ruby Valley (the Notch) with his boys, brothers, and friends. Lewie was an excellent coach and luminary in life and sports (baseball, basketball, trap shooting, and family horseshoe/cornhole tournaments).  He loved late night games with family and friends and reigned as a Merciless Marble Champion.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eleanor and Red Fellows, brother; Tim Fellows, (whom passed away two days prior to Lewie), nephews; Jerry Fellows and Shane Leone, sister-in-law; Gerianne Corak; and brothers-in-law; Robert Campbell and Willy Cook.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons; Jamey (Krissy, Mason, and Dylan) and Chad (Amanda); siblings: Alan (Sharon), Linda (Emil) Berry, Eleanor, Cheryl, Susan (Chuck) Leone, Mary (Doug) Devries, Jeff (Vickie), Greg (Christine) and sister-in-law Lori. Along with brothers-in-law Mike (Debbie) Corak and Joe Corak and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and great friends that became family.

Lewie loved big and loved hard, always putting his family first. Mason and Dylan, his grandkids, were his pride and joy- he loved them to the moon and stars and beyond.  Family was everything to Lewie. We were blessed to celebrate Lewie and Nancy's 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party among family and friends last year.

Lewie's absence leaves a void that words cannot express, yet the love he shared will forever remain in our hearts.

A mass celebrating Lewie's life will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Friday, May 2, 2025, with family receiving friends at 10 a.m., service at 11a.m., immediately followed by a reception at the McQueen Athletic Club.
