Lauren Theresa Hudson, born on September 29, 1986 in Winfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 17, 2025 in Butte, Montana. She was 38 years old.

Lauren was the best big sister anyone could ask for, a loving daughter, and a cherished friend. Her infectious spirit, kindness, and intelligence touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a passionate scholar, a dedicated mentor, and a beacon of light for those around her.

Lauren attended North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, where she cultivated her love for learning. She continued her academic journey at the American University in Washington, D.C., where she earned her graduate degree in American History. Her enthusiasm for education extended beyond her own studies, as she was deeply committed to empowering others. She worked at Montana Tech University, where she became a mentor and source of inspiration for countless students and colleagues.

Traveling was one of Lauren's greatest joys. Whether exploring new cities or returning to her favorite destination, Disney World, she approached every adventure with curiosity and excitement. Her love for her family was equally boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Lauren's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her family, friends, colleagues, and students will carry forward her passion for learning, her love for adventure, and the warmth of her unwavering support.

She is survived by her beloved sister Leigh Anna McKenna (Patrick), cousins Michelle Strubeck and Eric Strubeck, and a host of loving family members and friends.

Services to honor Lauren will be held Saturday, March 15th 2025 at St Ann's Church starting with visitation at 11am with mass to follow. A luncheon will be hosted at The Copper King Hotel, and all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Montana Tech University in her name.

Lauren will forever be remembered as a light in the lives of those who knew her—an extraordinary sister, educator, and friend whose impact will never be forgotten.
