Karen Lubick, 78, of Butte was called home to our Heavenly father on March 8, 2022. Karen was born December 20, 1943, to Dale and Audrey Thomason. She grew up in Butte and attended local schools, graduating from Butte High School. She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Lubick, and they were married for 44 years until Bob was called home. They were blessed with three wonderful sons, Bill, Steve, and Jack. Later in life, Karen was blessed to share a large part of her journey with Con Dennehy, who was her beloved partner for the past 15 years.

Always a hard worker, Karen worked for the School District, Human Resources, and owned and operated her own business, Klapans Korner, until her retirement.  After retirement, she worked for Butte-Silver Bow elections and most recently spent her time in the Foster Grandparent Program at Hillcrest School. She enjoyed helping the teachers and especially spending time with the children.

Karen was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, partner, cousin, aunt, and friend. She loved traveling and the ocean, boating, spending time at Georgetown Lake and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Her grandson, Joe, was the brightest light of her life. She loved watching him grow up, play baseball and was especially proud of him in his career as a law enforcement officer.

Karen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Shelley Lubick; Steve and Jennifer Lubick; grandson, Joe Lubick; granddaughter, Audrey Davidson, great-granddauthers, Taelynn and Aleea Davidson; cousins, Cindy (Steve) Donaldson, Denise (Jeff) Gorman, Terri (Jeff) Arntson, Margie Milaney; nieces, Linda (Richard) Hart, Diane Barkley; and her beloved dog, Cocoa. Karen is also survived by her close friends; Michelle Vincent, Jeanne Ferko, Helen Lundell, and Loralee Opie.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Lubick; son, Bill Lubick; sister, Beverly Richardson; partner, Con Dennehy; and brother and sister-in-law; Arthur and Laverne Bjorkman. We take comfort in knowing that she has now been reunited with all her loved ones in Heaven.

Classy to the end, Karen always carried herself beautifully, was funny and quick-witted, loved her family immensely, and had a great laugh and smile. Our hearts are broken, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her. Until we see you again, mom, may you rest in peace.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Karen's name to the Humane Society.
