Julie Catherine (Datres) Gannon, "Our Princess" passed away on Thursday, July 07, 2016, at her residence in Belgrade, sourrounded by her loving family. Julie was born on December 27, 1971 in Butte, America, to Robert and Cathy (MacDonald) Datres. She attended Whittier Grade School, East Junior High and Butte High School. She was Head Majorette in junior high and a member of the Butte High Purple B'z. She was an outstanding dancer and a natural at ballet; all talents to be utilized in time. She graduated in 1990 and attended MSU prior to graduating from Montana Tech (School of Mines) in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Society & Technology. While attending MSU she honed her conservative skills by purchasing a second car and a mobile home where she rented a room to her brother and cousin Shawn. Montana Tech is where she met Greg Gannon of Sun River, Montana. They were married on June 7, 1997 at St. Ann's – Butte, America. She not only married Greg, but the whole Gannon Nation (from the Great Falls clan). Those Gannon's welcomed her and her parents and included them in all family gatherings. Their adventure began in Winnemucca, Nevada for 3 years; then to Great Falls, Montana for 4 years where their son Quinn Jeffery was born (2002); then to Gillette, Wyoming for 3 years where their daughter Kayla Catherine was born (2004) and the first round of cancer began (2005); then on to Sheridan, Wyoming for 2 years. Finally to Belgrade, Montana (2008) where they were proud to call home – back to "God's Country". As stated earlier she was a great dancer. She and Greg loved to give the dance floors a good workout. They loved the jitter bug and any western or polka tune that needed their own made-up 2-step or foxtrot. At one point on one of numerous trips and hanging with the locals they were accused of being professionals and at another they earned the "Most Fabulous Dancer" trophy. Speaking of fabulous this doesn't start to explain her motherhood. She loved and adored her "babies". The first round of cancer was the soundless reminder of the fact that life is short. She never wanted anyone taking or caring for the kids – this was the purpose of life and embraced it with everything she had. After round 1 she decided that a big, fun, sunny, sandy beach, family vacation was to be made – San Diego it was. This was the first of many that usually included either the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean and several cruises. Each trip was an adventure and Julie was always the travel agent who loved researching, searching and then researching again and again, because there "might be a better deal". In May 2014 round 2 of cancer reared its challenge. Again Julie rose above all, kept her faith strong, cared for the kids, never ever complained and always had a smile on her face. An all out battle for 26 months included love and kindness that no one can describe … it truly is a gift from God and we all can appreciate this.

Julie was preceded in this life by her one and only sibling Jeffery Datres (1995), grandparents Donald and Mary Rita MacDonald, Ed and Helen Datres, cousin Bernadette Luchette and Uncle Jack and Aunt Nancy Datres; and life-long friend Dana Henderson. She is survived by her parents Robert & Cathy Datres, husband Greg, son Quinn, daughter Kayla, father-in-law Jack and mother-in-law Anne Gannon, Uncle John (Marijo) MacDonald, Aunts Levina (Ike) Serrano, Jeanette Larson (Tex Marchesseault), Mary Beth (Dennis) Hunt, and Marilyn Paffhausen, a few cousins and a pile of in-laws.

Friends are asked to join the family on Tuesday after 5:00 PM in St. Ann's Catholic Church. Parish vigil will be recited at 7:00 PM. Friends may also call after 10:00 am on Wednesday in the Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
