Sometimes a person comes into our lives that truly touches it and teaches us to enjoy life. John David was just that kind of man.
He was born in Lead, South Dakota on April 20th 1940 the 4th child and first son of John and Louise Kelly. He followed three sisters and like each of them grew to have an outgoing spirit, sense of humor, family and the cleanest of houses! Later they had a son and a brother Jimmy to complete the family.
He started his career like so many Butte kids selling papers. He enlisted in the National Guard and was stationed in San Francisco enjoying and developing his love for travel. When he returned to Butte he went to work for Roberts Rocky Mountain Equipment and then worked for the City at the L- A -N –D- F-I-L- L. Before retiring, he entertained many as a bartender at several establishments in Butte.
John loved to garden and for many years had one of the most ornate gardens in the city of Butte. He enjoyed sitting out in his garden, sharing a cocktail and his witty sense of humor with friends. He was an amazing story teller and had the gift of making people laugh. You knew if you were going to spend time with John David you were going to have a good time and sometimes laugh till you cried.
People come and go throughout our lives but it was not that way with John, his friends were friends for life. He loved them and they loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, beloved sisters, Betty Uggetti and Shirley Darragh and brother-in-law Chuck Uggetti. He is survived by sister Patty (Carl) Hafer, brother Jim (Sally) Kelly and brother in law George "Dunk" Darragh. He is also survived my numerous nieces and nephews, their families and so many friends that were
there with him until the end.

Friends are asked to join with the family Saturday from 10:00Am to 11:00AM in St. Ann's Church for visitations. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Butte Food Bank or to donors choice.
He left us with a legacy to delight in life, go over the top, laugh when you could cry and always be proud of your humble beginnings, never forget where you came from and lastly and most importantly, "Every day is a Holiday". You will be missed.
