Jeanne Marie Lynch, 93, of Butte Montana, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord in the early evening of Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Jeanne was born on June 13, 1930 in Butte, Montana.  She was the first child of Arthur and Eileen Kennedy.  She grew up on the flats on Reynolds Ave.  She attended St. Ann's Catholic school and graduated from Girls' Central in 1948.  As a child, she enjoyed helping out Father English and the nuns at St. Ann Catholic Church.  She often spoke of writing letters for Father English, playing the organ at the rectory, and taking the bus uptown to go shopping for the nuns.  She would always point out that uptown Butte had the finest stores that would rival anything on either coast.

Jeanne knew at an early age that she wanted to be a nurse, so after graduation she went to Seattle University to get her nursing degree.  In Seattle, she worked for Providence Hospital.  She would leave Seattle to move to California to take a job at Stanford University Hospital.  Jeanne would continue to work at Stanford until her retirement as director of nursing.

It was in California where she would meet and marry the love of her life, Richard Lynch.  Together, they would purchase and build a successful Cadillac dealership in ­­­Watsonville, California.  After selling the dealership, Jeanne and Dick would return to Butte to spend their retirement years.  During her retirement years, she loved to go visit people in the local nursing homes and would purchase any items they needed if the were unable.  She was a proud member of the Hibernians, enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and was always up to do a puzzle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Eileen Kennedy and her Sister-in-Law Bonnie Kennedy.  She is survived by her husband, Richard Lynch, her brothers Dan Kennedy (Rose) of Butte, Montana and Jack Kennedy of Great Falls, Montana.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Friends may call on Friday after 10:00 am in St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.  Rite of Committal will follow in the Mausoleum at Mountain View Cemetery.
