Jean Francis McGrath passed away on January 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Jean was born September 19, 1939, in Butte, Montana to Frank and Paticia O'Donnell Martin.  She was the second child of five girls, Patsy, Jean, Joan, Katie and Rosie, and was born 10 minutes before her identical twin sister Joan.  She attended St. Patrick's Grade School and graduated from Girls Central High School in 1957. On October 12, 1957, she married George "Dan" McGrath.  Their marriage lasted for more than 45 years.  Jean and Dan had 4 children and traveled to many places with the Air Force, including Spokane, Puerto Rico, Glasgow, Louisiana, Guam, and Cheyenne, finally making Butte their home.

Jeans faith was the most important thing in her life, and it carried her through many trying times including surviving cancer, becoming a widow, losing 3 of her children, and caring for her oldest son for 27 years as he fought his battle with ALS. She continued to be a devout member of St Ann's church attending daily mass.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Dan, son Danny, daughters Debbie and Susie, parents Frank and Patricia, sisters Patsy and Rosie, in-laws June Ose, Nig McGrath and Mickey Silver, Bill Thompson, Ed Harrington, Sis and Ross Smathers, Jack McGrath, Jerry and Carol McGrath.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law Jimmy and Tracy McGrath, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Kait, Kari and Karson McGrath, Lane (Meghan and Rosalie), MacKenzie (Lacie, Maelyn and Everett), Daniel, Allison McGrath, Terri Jo Carter (Nicole, Taylor, Addison, Kyle, Bridgitt, and Hailey), Carissa (Mike, Tristan, Taylor) Little, John Mike (Hayden), Mindy (Makena), Kaylee (Jacob) Hollow, Jordan (Kameryn, Kynlee) Bartlett, twin sister Joan and sister and brother in law Katie and Bill Halvorson, and son in law Tino Grosso. Plus, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends may call from Friday January 17, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 with services starting at 11:00, the rosary will be recited at 9:30 am at St. Anns catholic church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
