On August 28, 2021, our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend Jean Marie Kinsella-Mulcahy, 88 passed away in Butte.  Jean was born on January 15, 1933 in Butte to Andy and Nancy Aleksich.  Jean grew up in Butte the oldest of six children.  Jean graduated from Butte High School in 1951 and thoroughly enjoyed working on and attending her class reunions.  On September 10, 1955 Jean married Frank Kinsella and expanded their family of two with what they considered the most beautiful daughters in the world, Debbie and Patti. Jean stayed home with her young family for many years.  In 1969, after Frank's first stroke, Jean found herself back the work force.  Jean worked at Albertson's as a checker for many years before starting with the Butte School District as a Computer Operator, where she worked until she retired in 1988.

Jean was a very good cook and always wanted to fix everyone something to eat.  She loved Sunday night dinner.  She made the best Povitica that she rolled the dough until you could see the flowers on the tablecloth below.  Jean's family loved her sheet cakes, rice crispy treats, pasties, and tuna melts just to mention a few. Jean became very good at crocheting and thusly, most of her family have memorable afghans. Jean and Frank were married for thirty-three years before Frank was taken from them at the young age of 59.

At a class reunion in 1994, Jean became reunited with one of Frank's old friends, Rich Mulcahy.  Rich and Jean started courting back and forth from Seattle to Butte.  It did not take long for them to fall in love.  On August 16, 1997, Jean and Rich were married in Seattle.  The long commutes from Seattle to Butte were over and they made Butte their home until December 30, 2020 when Rich proceeded Jean in death.   Jean and Rich enjoyed traveling and purchased two motorhomes.  Unlike Jean, Rich was an early riser and drove the motorhomes many miles before Jean awoke riding down the highway.  Together, they enjoyed their trips to Nevada, California and Arizona often pulling Jean's cousin's Volkswagen.  Hitting every mall on the way regardless of the traffic, Jean had Rich stop to shop along the journey.

When Rich passed away, Jean could not go back to Rich and her Assisted Living Apartment due to Covid, so she relocated to Arizona where she could be with Debbie.   Jean resided in Arizona, from January through July 2021, then she returned to Butte.  Jean loved the Arizona weather sitting outside, tanning her legs and riding in Debbie's convertible, she didn't even care if it messed her hair. And, eating tacos from Taco Bell. But most of all she loved playing with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by loving daughters and sons-in-laws Debbie & Wade Bristol and Patti & Glen Rafish.  Her surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren, Britney & Lee Nusser (Olivia & Cooper), Ashley & Tim Spruyt (Steele, Briggs, Beau), Zach & Kristy Bristol (Walker & Perry), and Kinsley Rafish.  Surviving siblings are sister Sandy (Roy) Crittenden, and brothers Herb (Rainy) Aleksich, and Jerry (Maryjo) Aleksich,   sisters-in-law Maureen (Jack) Evans, Eileen Andrene, brother-in-law Marty (Kay) Mulcahy, step-daughter Francis Fritze, and daughter-in-law Maureen Mulcahy. Nieces, Lisa Arnold, Wendy Drew, Rachelle Alger, Britney Campbell, Lynn Loch, Laurie Edwards, Suzanne Foulois, Julie Johns, nephews Mike and Dan Stears, Brent, Brock, Andy and Greg Aleksich, Mark Wells, Bob and Bill Andrene.  She is also survived by her special cousins Sam Verona and Kathern Stowell, lifelong best friend Bobbie Whelan, and neighbors Jean thought of like family, Kim and Marshall Mickelson.

Proceeded in Death by her parents Andy and Nancy Aleksich, husband Frank Kinsella, Mother and Father-in-Law Elsie and Dan Kinsella, husband Rich Mulcahy, sister and Brother-in-laws, Virginia and Charles Stears, Mary and Vyron Wells, Brother-in-laws Ed Alger, Bob Andrene, niece Sheri Stears, nephew Brad Evans, close friend Jack Whelan.

Services will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Holy Spirit Church.  Visitation at 10:00 with funeral at 11:00.  Please make donations to the Butte Food Bank or the charity of the donor's choice.
