Janet Marie (Enrooth) Welsh, 84, of Butte, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

She was born in Butte on January 17, 1941, to Verner and Viola (Willoughby) Enrooth.  She attended Monroe School and graduated from Butte High School in 1959.  She married William J. Welsh on July 22, 1961.

Janet worked at Mountain Bell Telephone, Safeway offices, and became a stay-at-home mom until her children were raised.  She then worked at House of Fabrics and JoAnn Fabrics from which she retired.

After her husband passed away in 2003, she enjoyed traveling, most of all taking cruises with her sister Norma, sister-in-law Carol, and cousin Donna Conlan.  She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren, sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitch embroidery. She belonged to Ruth Chapter #2, Order of Eastern Star, and the Wet Hens Red Hat group.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, son Ron; brothers Verner Jr. and Pete Enrooth; brothers-in-law Jim and Hugh Welsh, Cliff Bare; and sister-in-law Arlene Welsh.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law William Jr. and Heather Welsh, daughter and son-in-law Judy and Ron Harvey; daughter-in-law Amy Welsh.  Also surviving are her grandchildren Ashley Hossack (Jack Hocking), Brad and Clarissa Welsh, Zach, Jordan, and Kaitlyn Welsh, Brittany Parmely (Rick Mitchell), Kamryn Harvey (Tanner Bair); grandson-in-law Kenny Parmely.  She also had two bonus grandchildren, Peytan Campbell, Tyler Copenhaver; great-grandchildren Hayden, Clayton, Braisley, Blake, Ronnie, Kyra, Kiennah, Kai, Karter, and Mack; sister Norma Bare, sisters-in-law Carol Enrooth and Darlene Welsh.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Friday, December 12, 2025, at Duggan Dolan Mortuary.  Memorials may be made to the Shriner Hospital for Children or any organization that benefits children.
