Mr. James Rajacich, also known as "Jim" or "Jimmy, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at his residence in Butte, Montana.  Jim joined his large, loving, family on November 25, 1950.  Born in Butte, he was the son of Paul and Rose (Rizio) Rajacich.

Jim attended St. Lawrence O'Toole Parochial School and graduated from Butte, Central.  Following graduation, Jim joined the United States Air Force in 1970 and proudly served in Vietnam.  Stationed in London, England, he met the love of his life, Linda Meneely – Pruitt.  They were married on November 24, 1978 in Butte, Montana.  Together, they raised their 3 children; Angelina, Paul, and Rosecille.  They remained constant companions until Linda's passing on May 16, 2019.  Jim continued to proudly serve his county after his active duty as a member of the United States Army Reserve and the Montana National Guard for nearly 13 years.

Jim was proudly known as "Papa" to his 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  His quiet and loving demeanor made him the perfect dad, Papa, Uncle, son, and brother.  He will be deeply and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim enjoyed his last 5 years being cared for by his daughter, Angie, and granddaughter, Kaylianne.  His presence is missed the greatest in the silence; not hearing his favorite Westerns or L.A. Dodgers and Green Bay Packers games, playing in the background, or missing his laughter at whatever joke he had up his sleeve.  Jim will be best remembered for his impromptu day trips, when he would tell his wife "pack a lunch" and pile his kids, and his nephews and nieces, into the back of the pickup, and sometimes a tarp, to go fishing, swimming, or just exploring.  Jim loved to go fishing with his son.  He also enjoyed camping, bowling, or playing cards all night with the Oldies blaring on the record player.  He was also a shark at Monopoly.  No one could beat him and many grandkids tried.  Jim's favorite times were time spent with his family.  He loved to give the best gifts.  He was always thoughtful in his giving.  Christmas was his favorite, making sure all the "littles" got a gift from their Papa.  The new babies always got a "Papa Bear" for their first Christmas.  Jim was our "hero" in so many ways.  Our lives are blessed beyond measure because of him.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Enhabit Hospice for all the love and care provided to Jim, and the Montana Veterans Association for had the care and equipment needed for a quality life.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe "Sonny" and Frank "Butch" Rajacich; and sisters, Joanne McClafferty and Nickolette "Nean" Mulcahy.  He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law,  Margaret "Margie" Rajacich, brother-in-law, Pat McClafferty; nieces, Leeann Lundgren and Theresa Rajacich; and granddaughter, Korrisa Ruth Hocking.  He is survived by his daughters, Angelina Pratt and Rosecille Rajacich; his son Paul (Gina) Rajacich; his grandchildren, Kaitlynd Winn, Kristalyn (Max) Pratt, Kaymen (Alycia) Pratt, Kaylianne Pratt, David Pratt, Deagyn Pratt, Makayla Rajacich, Erik Evans, Kathrine Evans-Rajacich, Angellina Hocking, and Natalia and Jymaesa Gadaire; and by his great-grandchildren, which include, Aiden and Marcus Lane, Ezekial Murphy, and one on the way.  He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Rajacich, "Cookie" and Steve LaRusso, and Nancy and Pat Lewis; and James "Moe" Mulcahy; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Vickie Rajacich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 am in Sunset Memorial Garden in Crackerville, near Fairmont Hot Springs.  A further celebration of Jim's life will be held at the McQueen Athletic Club at 1:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, Enhabit Hospice, or the Montana Veterans Home.
