Helen (Petersen) O'Neill, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, left this world on October 9, 2022, at the age of 91, in peace and surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed for her love of life, strength, encouragement, dedication, humor, and faith.

Daughter of Emil Petersen and Lexie Castro. Helen was born and raised in Butte and was a descendant of one of the original homesteaders, the St. Onge's who settled here over 150 years ago. Part of the homestead is still in the O'Neill family.

She truly was an amazing woman, and it would be difficult to highlight her life in a few paragraphs. The stories she shared with her family will be passed on for generations.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Daniel John and children Dan "DJ" and Kiera. Surviving children are Georgina, Sean, Collins, Brendan, Devin and Damon,19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Upon reflecting on her life, she would state to everyone she knew, "I had a good life" followed by "Amen", which were her final words...

Per Helen's wishes, the family will have a private ceremony in celebration of her life.
