Helen Dorothy Murphy, 91,

April 29, 1931-May 20, 2022

Helen Dorothy Murphy of Browns Gulch, passed away at her home Friday evening, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born Helen Gabrielli to John and Victoria (Casagranda) Gabrielli of Browns Gulch. Full of faith and tough as nails, Helen caught the attention of Hugh Murphy, her neighbor of three miles away, and the pair soon married. They remained in Brown's Gulch where they reared eight children. Helen maintained the sunshine of her family home, always taking the time to revel in God's glory.

She is survived by her daughters Joyce Garrels and Dorothy (Jeff) Hockaday, her sons Chris (Cathy), Jim (Jeanne), John (Kristie), and Hugh (Heidi), 20 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Hugh, Her sister Eda (Bill) Maki, her brothers Valerio and Zerbino (Esther),

her beloved sons Gary and Shawn as well as her son-in-law Dr. Lloyd Garrels.

Services will be held on June 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the I.C. Church. Internment and reception to follow.
