Helen Laverne Goodwin (Osborne) passed away on May 13, 2024, in Butte, Montana, at the age of 78. She was born on July 12, 1945, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Helen was a rambunctious woman full of life, always ready for a good time. She cherished her family, friends, and her beloved animals. Helen started her cooking career at E and N Cafe, later moving to the Silver Saddle where she became well known for her Prime Rib special. Her passion for cooking extended to preparing amazing meals for her loved ones.
She traveled extensively, making lifelong friends and settling in Basin, Montana, where she raised her family. Helen enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, riding motorcycles, floating the river, and spending time in the mountains. She took pride in carving walking sticks from diamond willows and was devoted to the hunting camp she and her late husband Chuck established, where they created endless cherished memories with family and friends.
Helen is survived by her children and their significant others: Ed Wood & Kathie Barnhart, Kimberly and Troy Redli, Troy and Chrissi Wood, and Charlie Goodwin. She was a proud grandmother of Jonathan Robinson (Kara), Angela Marras (Nate), Derek Wood (Morgan), Darren Wood (Mallory), Ashley Martinez (Alex), Mackenzie Barnhart, Zack Barnhart, Byran Cerise, and Soyer Mahkuk. Helen adored her great-grandchildren: Seth Marras, Liam Marras, Aiden Martinez, Jaycek Wood, Corbin Robinson, Axton Martinez, Avram Martinez, Kenna Wood, Collins Wood, and Claire Wood. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Rita Mayo and Lorna Beardall, and brother-in-law Jeri Goodwin.
Helen was proceeded in death by her husband Chuck Goodwin, her parents Ed and Nirena Osborne, and favorite dog Scooter.
The celebration of Helen's life will be held on June 8, 2024, 2 pm in Bernice, where their hunting camp is (before Whitehouse). Ashes will be spread at a later date with family and friends.
