Mrs. Helen L. Fellows passed away on Tuesday in Copper Ridge Rehabilitation Center. Helen was born on August 07, 1936 in Billings, Montana, the daughter of Harold A. and Anna M. (Mathis) Downey

Helen attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Girls Central. She worked for Sears Roebuck and Company and Wells Fargo, before she became employed by the United States Government, working for the U.S. Census Bureau. She worked for the Bureau from July of 1976 until October 2015, retiring at the age of 79, having given devoted service for over 40 years.

On April 23, 1955, Helen married Patrick J. Fellows at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Butte. They remained constant companions until his death in March of 2015.

Helen enjoyed the forest, family, and furry friends. She enjoyed camping and traveling. Skilled in the kitchen, Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. She also enjoyed socializing and time spent with friends, as a member of the Class of "54 Lunch Club or relaxing making ceramics. She loved her family, especially her four legged family, lavishing attention and affection on her dogs. If people could come back as animals, you couldn't be luckier than to come back as one of Helen's dogs.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Patrick, and John Downey; her grandson, Cody Fellows; her stepdaughter, Judy Fellows, and her daughter-in-law, Lynette Fellows. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Fellows, Tim and Rose Fellows, P.J. and Charlee Fellows, and Dennis and Gerri Fellows; her daughters and son-in-law, Laura and Arch Arntson, and Mary Breen; her grandchildren, Mike Fellows, Jr., Krista Fellows, Zack (Bethany) Fellows, Mandi (Mike) Mohr, Jason (Jennifer) Fellows, Sheena Fellows, Kelly Breen, and Nicole Breen; and her great-grandchildren, Orion Fellows, Camden Angelo, and Monroe Mohr. She is also survived by her brother and sisters-in-law, Bob and Maureen Downey and Karen Downey; her sisters and brother-in-law, Marie Barick, and Barbara and Jerry Keane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are asked to join the family on Friday after 6:00 PM in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Parish Vigil will be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in the Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mausoleum at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Butte Emergency Food Bank, the Butte Rescue Mission, of the Humane Society.
