Gerald Joseph Nulty, born in Butte, Montana on April 04, 1933, passed away peacefully on March 03, 2026 at Big Sky Assisted Living on Waterford Way in Butte, Montana.

Gerald, born and raised in Butte, attended St. Patrick's Grade School and later graduated from Butte Central High School.  After High School, Gerald proudly his Country in the United States Army, spending two years in the Signal Corps.

Following his military service, Gerald returned home to Montana where he graduated from Montana State University.  After graduation, he spent two years teaching High School in St. Regis, Montana, before beginning a long and dedicated career with the Federal Government.

Gerald had a deep love for the outdoors.  He was an avid and skilled fisherman who treasured the many days he spent on the water.  Some of his favorite times were spent in his boat, fishing on Georgetown Lake and along the Madison and Big Hole Rivers.  He especially enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews on fishing trips and sharing his love of Montana's rivers and lakes with them.  Gerald will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the many peaceful days he spent fishing on Montana's rivers and lakes.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Peter Nulty; and his sisters, Mary Blastek, Rita Lewin, Elizabeth Carroll, Theresa Nulty, Lila Foster, and Patricia O'Leary.

Gerald is survived by his brother, Peter "PJ" Nulty, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family member, who will remember him fondly.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Big Sky for the compassionate, wonderful, care they provided to Gerald.

Friends may call on Monday, March 16, 2026, after 10:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
