Georgia Lee King passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 1.  Georgia lost her incredibly brave fight with cancer. She truly was our warrior, and gave her all. Georgia was born in Butte, Montana to Theodore "Ted" Shupe and Wilma Jean Johnson, and was the sixth of seven children.  She attended Butte High School and completed her GED in 1978.Georgia met the love of her life, Chris King in 1976. The two fell deeply in love and never looked back. There wasn't one without the other. They welcomed their son, Christopher in 1977 and a daughter, Sharon in 1980.

Georgia was a baker at Safeway for twenty-three years, and was incredibly proud to be one of the last from scratch bakers there. Chris and Georgia met many of their lifelong friends at Safeway and could be found almost every Friday night having dinner with the "clan. "Being a grandparent to Peyton, Olivia, August and Asher was a highlight of Georgia's life.  Her refrigerator, packed full of pictures of her grandchildren was something that brought her great joy. Camping and attending car shows with her husband (who she affectionately nicknamed Chumpie) was also something she was very fond of. She enjoyed getting out into the outdoors, and did so until she was unable to do so.

Georgia's trip of a lifetime was when her and "Chumpie" traveled to Hawaii for their 40th wedding anniversary.  Hawaii was at the top of her bucket list, and she was so happy that her and Chris got the opportunity to spend ten days in paradise together. Chris and Georgia were together for forty-seven years.  They were truly 'peas and carrots,' and were forever the best of friends.  At any time, they could be found sitting on the couch watching a movie holding hands, and each departure was met with an "I love you." Georgia is preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Johnson, father, Theodore "Ted" Shupe, sister, Sharon Kingston, mother-in- law, Arlene Orr and father- in law, Jerry King, sisters- in- law, Danette King, Pam Johnson and Julie King.

Georgia is survived by her husband Chris King, son Christopher King (Melissa Smith), daughter Sharon (Levi) Queer, sisters, Rose(Dan) Shea, Della Shupe, Dottie Nichols, brothers, Ted (Evelyn) Shupe and Jake (Rosalie) Johnson, brother- in- law, Tony(Pam) King, sister in laws, Jackie, Adrienne and Connie King, Angela (Mike) McLean and grandchildren Peyton and Olivia King, and August and Asher Sutey, along with many loving nephews and nieces.

Georgia is incredibly loved and sadly missed by all of us, but we hold faith in the promise that we will see her again.  Until then, a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother will be remembered in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life Service for Georgia will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Duggan Dolan Mortuary, 1805 Meadowlark Lane, Butte MT 59701.
