Georgia Jean Evankovich, 70
Surrounded by her family, Georgia left us to join the Lord and her family in heaven on Monday, November 28, 2016. Georgia was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend. Always willing to give more than she received to those she loved, she lived her life as an example of strength, courage, and unconditional love. She had an amazing sense of humor, quick wit, and a knack for story telling that made being with her effortless and so much fun! Heaven has gained a beautiful angel, but our lives will never be as bright as before.
Born on March 15, 1946, Georgia was the fourth daughter born to George and Odie Prescott. She attended local schools and graduated from Girl's Central in 1965. On October 7, 1967 Georgia married the love of her life, Dave Evankovich. Though they later divorced, they remained close friends and she always said that no one could ever take his place in her heart.
Georgia was grateful for the many friends she met during her career as a collections professional at the Butte Credit Bureau and later as a medical secretary at the Highland View Outpatient Surgery Center. After retiring, Georgia focused on her real passion in life…her family. She was an incredible homemaker and took enormous pride in creating a clean and "beautifully-decorated" home. She always said she loved her house, and even greet it with a "Hi house" every time she came home. She was a great cook and even earned a level of fame over the years for her pasties. Above all though, Georgia loved being "Nana", a boy was she good at it!! Her legacy will definitely be in the love that she left us all with.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents George and Odie Prescott, her Mother and Father-In-Law Kay and John Evankovich, Aunt and Uncle Sylvia and Ed Carlson, sister Diane Vanderwind, brother-in-law Flurry McClafferty, niece Barbie Brown, nephew Dan McClafferty and son-in law Dave Serich.
She is survived by her daughter Amy Serich, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Chris Chebul, and son John Evankovich. Surviving grandchildren are Tucker Serich and his fiancée Tori Bernhardt, Gia Martz, and Jacob and Krista Chebul. Georgia in also survived by her ex-husband and dear friend Dave Evankovich, sisters Bev McClafferty and Vicky (Billy) Wagner, cousin and special friends Andrea and Pinky Lynch, and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends too numerous to mention. She loved you all so much!
Funeral services will be conducted at the Duggan Dolan Chapel Friday December 2, 2016 at 1:00pm with the Rite of Committal of Ashes immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial are requested to The Lady of the Rockies Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
